Titanium Dioxide
Titanium dioxide (TiO2) is found in various forms in nature. Its two famous types are "Anatase" and "Rutile".
Titanium used in the door and window profile industry must have special specifications. The only preferred grade for this industry is the Rutile type. This grade has different functional properties with Anatase grade. Because the two types of these titans differ significantly in price, some door and window profile manufacturers use the Anatase type, assuming that both types have the same capability.
Titanium dioxide is the most important pigment used for those PVC particles and products that are used externally, this is because in addition to painting PVC particles, it also increases the protective effect against UV, and also because this material may act as a catalyst and cause the decay of PVC, a surface coating should be used to minimize this effect.
Titanium dioxide has the best performance compared to other pigments. In addition to its whitening properties, it also has a UV protection effect. It is strongly recommended to use titanium dioxide in Rutile form with compounds of aluminum, Silicium and Zirconium. These compounds include Al2O3, SiO2 and ZrO2.
