Antioxidant 802
Antioxidant 802 DODTP stands for Dioctadecyl 3,3'-thiodipropionate. It is a thioester-based antioxidant commonly used as a stabilizer in rubber products. Thioester antioxidants like DODTP inhibit the degradation of rubber caused by oxidation processes from heat, light, or environmental factors.
Antioxidant 802 is a phenolic antioxidant that enhances long-term thermal stability (LTTS) and provides general heat stabilization. It is widely used in polypropylene, polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride, ABS rubber, and lubricating oil. It has a high melting point and low volatility. It can be combined with phenolic antioxidants and ultraviolet absorbers to create a synergistic effect. For cross-linked power cables, the recommended usage level of antioxidant 802 is 0.02-0.03%. The general recommended dosage level is 0.05-0.1%. It is approved for food contact applications.
Applications:
· Rubber Products: Used in tires, hoses, seals, and molded rubber goods to improve durability and resistance to degradation.
· Rubber Compounding: Included in rubber formulations to protect against oxidative aging and maintain physical properties.
· Synthetic Rubber: Stabilizes the structure of synthetic rubber like SBR, IIR, and NBR.
· Automotive Industry: Ensures longevity and resistance to heat, ozone, and UV radiation in automotive tires and rubber components.
· HDPE pipes
· polypropylene
· XLPE power cables
· styrene homo- and copolymers
· Used for polyethylene power cables.
· polyolefin under-hood automotive applications
