According to the news agency of Production and Economy (TolidOnline), Engineer Morteza Bisheh, CEO of the knowledge-based company Pakchemical, spoke to our reporter on the sidelines of the 18th International Iran Plast Exhibition regarding the activities of the company. He mentioned that Pakchemical began its extensive activities in the polymer industry 25 years ago.
Mr. Bisheh stated that due to the presence of petrochemical companies, the polymer industry has developed significantly. He added that most polymer additives, stabilizers, PVC waxes, and all polymer additive requirements are produced domestically.
He further stated that Pakchemical carries out extensive activities in the knowledge-based sector and hopes this will lead to further development in the industry.
The CEO of Pakchemical explained that the company’s PVC wax and stearate products are exported to China, Turkey, Dubai, and many countries in the Persian Gulf region, and they plan to increase exports to China.
He mentioned that a major challenge for the petrochemical industry is the lack of communication with scientific centers and other countries due to sanctions, stating that the petrochemical industry has great potential for development and expansion. Some raw materials, such as stearic acids, are imported, but currency restrictions from the Central Bank and time-consuming administrative procedures hinder easy imports.
Mr. Bisheh also noted that there are challenges in receiving imported raw materials through the stock exchange by petrochemical companies.
He evaluated this year’s exhibition positively, given the improvement in the country’s situation, mentioning that this year’s exhibition was larger than previous years and received good attention.
Finally, Mr. Morteza Bisheh emphasized that widespread connections for greater competition are essential for the industry and highlighted that the production and export of value-added products should replace the export of raw materials.
